Charity - we do our bit

Bondi Rescue Lifeguards supports a number of charities including:

Bondi Lifeguards  Support Breast Cancer Research

Breast Cancer Research Supporters

Recently we turned the Bondi Lifeguard tower PINK to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Month. The National Breast Cancer Foundation received amazing support from all the lifeguards from Bondi (they were a bit hesitant on the day to wear PINK!), Kracka who donated a fantastic pink rescue board and Ocean Living who kindly made very bright lifeguard pink shirts, caps and togs.

Attached are a couple of photos that we have received today from last Wednesday night.....these are just a couple of the many photo's taken on the day...and there are some amazing photos that our Global Illumination program can use next year to promote their program not only in Australia but on an International stage.

The promotion reached further than what we were expecting...like gay websites, the Sunday Telegraph paper, Channel 10 weather cross, Facebook and the list goes on!

Once again thank you to everyone involved

Huff and Puff for the critters!

Some of the Bondi Lifeguards are swapping bare feet and sand for a pair of runners and asphalt to take on Sydney's annual City 2 Surf race. A few of us are trying to finish withn 1 hour & others are gonna just cruz and enjoy the sights and chat to other walkers but its all for a good cause.

We have chosen to support WSPA (The World Society for the Protection of Animals) because we want to help create a world where animals matter and cruelty ends. Bears in the wild can roam over 40km in just one day, but thousands around the world are currently forced to live out their lives in cages. By running this year's City2Surf we are standing up and running for the animals that can't.

The money we raise will play a vital role in helping to save dancing bears from a life of torment and pain; stop the inhumane slaughter of stray dogs; care for animals affected by floods, famine and natural disasters around the world; and so much more.

So if animals matter to you too, please go to http://www.everydayhero.com.au/bondi_lifeguards and make a donation, it only takes a second! Also feel free to forward this on to anyone you think would wanna support the boys & the animals. For more info you can also visit www.wspa.org.au
